M80 Ring road upgrade
VicRoads' upgrade to the Western Ring Road M80 includes this section which stems from Sunshine Avenue to the Calder Freeway. This project includes an extensive widening of both inbound and outbound lanes across EJ Whitten Bridge, which is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve overall safety. Roadworks have been ongoing since October 2016 and are estimated to be completed by the end of 2018.
