ABOUT PACE

Born and raised by Melbourne

Pace has been building on the modern foundations of Melbourne for over 30 years. With more than 100 projects delivered across Melbourne and a few awards along the way, we have a rich and proud history in the city we will always call home. And as an end-to-end developer with so much appreciation for the Melbourne way of life, we can genuinely say there’s no other place in the world we’d rather be.

The founding story

Shane Wilkinson founded Pace in 1992 and built it into one of Melbourne’s most respected development businesses. More than three decades on, he’s still one of the industry’s most influential voices — and a genuine driving force behind Melbourne’s built future. Shane continues to play an active role at Pace. The standard he set is the standard we hold today.

The next chapter

Today, Pace is led by James Simpson and Dimitri Siriwardena as Co-Managing Directors. Together they bring deep operational experience and a clear view of where the business goes next — grounded in the same values that have always defined Pace. James and Dimitri have been instrumental in shaping Pace into what it is today. Their appointment reflects the way Pace has always operated: collaboratively, and with accountability at every level.

Design, construct, deliver

Pace is an end-to-end developer building smart spaces from the ground up. We oversee development, acquisitions, planning, architecture, construction, sales and marketing, finance, legal, commercial – and every minute detail in between. This holistic approach gives us complete oversight and accountability for the standard of quality we expect of ourselves and our collaborators. The result is one of coherence and harmony, a building perfectly suited to the postcode it calls home.

The people of Pace

The people behind Pace have a few crucial things in common: Strength of character, commitment to quality and diversity of thinking – all the things that make Melbourne unique.
