Pace Settles 181 Fitzroy St DevelopmentUrban Life - Published December 2016
Builder-developer PACE Development Group is capping its most successful year with the settlement of its flagship 181 Fitzroy Street development at St Kilda. Directly opposite Junction Oval and with sweeping views across Albert Park Lake parkland down to Port Philip Bay and across to Melbourne’s CBD cityscape, 181 Fitzroy Street is PACE’s 26th major residential development in the Bayside area.
Highlighted by a chic rooftop with pool and all-weather entertaining zone, the luxurious 10-storey development incorporates 151 spacious apartments, which are a mix of large one, two and three bedroom floorplans. Interior designer Sue Carr brings hotel-style refinement to the interiors, while a concierge service further exemplifies the guest experience.
The SJB Architects-designed project, which has an average energy rating of 7.2 stars, also provides an integrated energy solution featuring solar, an EV charger and a communal PHEV (plug-in hybrid vehicle) for residents’ use. Residents also benefit from communal solar panels that will generate the power for 50 per cent of the common lighting usage. The project’s green credentials were developed in partnership with Origin Energy.
PACE managing director Shane Wilkinson said the successful settlement showed local demand was still strong for quality product. “The settlement of 181 Fitzroy, which was sold primarily to the local market (83.5 per cent), marks the end of PACE’s most successful year to date,” Wilkinson said. “We believe this is testament to the idea that if you build a high quality, well-priced product in a good location, demand is still strong.”
