Pace Development Group has been in business for 21 years. In that time, it has developed what it calls “the Pace differences”. Because it is a builder and a developer, buyers benefit from the group’s extensive experience in both areas.

Pace’s managing director, Shane Wilkinson, describes one of the many benefits of “the Pace difference” simply: “We deliver on our promises,” he says.

Pace’s latest development is 808-818 Sydney Road in Brunswick. It consists of 89 apartments (47 one-bedroom, 40 two-bedroom and two three-bedroom). Level 6 has views of the Melbourne city skyline. The project is ideally located for buyers to enjoy the vibrant neighbourhood. “Apartment living doesn’t thrive unless you’ve got lifestyle attractions,” says Pace’s director of sales and marketing, Cameron Yates. “Part of that is accessibility to shops and employment hubs such as the CBD.” There is a cycling highway that runs parallel to the train line. The train itself is just a few minutes’ walk from the property site, as are trams.

“Brunswick is perfect for a first-home buyer, a down-sizer or an investor,” says Yates. He claims that the apartments in 808-818 Sydney Road Brunswick are equivalent to what is available in Mentone for the same price. The difference is that Mentone is 20 kilometres south of the city. “Brunswick is just six kilometres away,” he says.

Yates points out the booming Brunswick café culture and nightlife, and the attraction this holds for young professionals.

Also part of “the Pace difference” is the group’s willingness to go above and beyond what is expected of a development group. In developments with 100-plus apartments, NBN capability is mandatory. Pace offers this as standard, even in smaller buildings.

The building’s interiors are by the award-winning interior design firm, Carr Design. “They are arguably Melbourne’s best interior design company,” says Yates. “They have a huge reputation for what they do.”

The building’s common areas are spacious and light. There is rooftop rain-water harvesting and plenty of bycicle parking. The building’s energy rating exceeds BCA and Victoria building regulation requirements. Prices start at $369,000. All apartments come with at least one car park and with storage. All three-bedroom apartments are allocated two car parks. Outdoor spaces are generous – an average of 21 square-meters.

The display suite will open for the first time this weekend, Saturday and Sunday (February 6 and 7). This weekend only, buyers who sign up on the day will be offered generous early bird incentives, and anyone who visits can enjoy the free food and coffee courtesy of food trucks such as Mr Burger and Lil’ Nom Noms and next door café Minimo.
